Business Area

Are you looking for volunteer opportunities to help you decide what to do after retirement? It is always helpful to find our what others did to become successful. Here are some suggestions on how to use your skills and knowledge to help small businesses grow.

Since being formed in 1964, SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" has helped 7.5 million small-business owners by providing counseling, training, and advice on a volunteer basis. It is America’s premier source of free and confidential small-business advice for entrepreneurs.

It provides many “how-to” articles and business templates on its website. By volunteering, you could help a small-business owner develop a business plan, increase his cash flow, improve marketing or many other aspects of business.

You can provide face-to-face counseling through one of SCORE’s local chapters or you can offer advice online. Many counselors provide guidance by email.

  • Group rates for health, life and other insurance plans.
  • Flexible space and leasing.

  • Networking with other entrepreneurs.
